So what do you think: goodbye, RKBA, then..?
That's the vibe I'm getting, though admittedly I'm getting it mostly from here. Two years from now will we be able to buy anything anymore, or will it all be a thing of the past, and our favortie FFLs and ranges shut down and gone?
I'm getting what I can right now, but I'm hoping - perhaps foolishly - that we'll still have choices and opportunity to buy and to practice and enjoy, somehow, in the years ahead. :bear_cry: |

Re: So what do you think: goodbye, RKBA, then..?
Well you got the people that yell if anyone mentions the chance of another AWB. Looks like Hillary will be a landslide and since her old man pushed the first one through I would say it highly likely with a Dem pres/congress AWB2 is HIGHLY likely.
Then you got the people yelling the sky is falling..."buy everything and anything!" A lot of these people just happen to sell firearms and ammo. :D You got some folks that will hand in their weapons as soon as TPTB tell them to AND turn in their neighbors...then you got some people who are really "cold dead hands" types. I say get what you want now and the ammo to keep you in business for quite a while if you are one of the "cold dead hands" types...otherwise you're just throwing away money right? |
Re: So what do you think: goodbye, RKBA, then..?
It's foolish to think it can't happen again. I hate to link to these scumbags, but here is the info on the first assault weapons ban...expect AWB2 to cover more and not less.
http://www.bradycampaign.org/facts/faqs/?page=awb The bill bans, by name, the manufacture of 19 different weapons: * Norinco, Mitchell, and Poly Technologies Avtomat Kalashnikovs (all models); * Action Arms Israeli Military Industries UZI and Galil; * Beretta Ar70 (SC-70); * Colt AR-15; * Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN/LAR, and FNC; * SWD M-10; M-11; M-11/9, and M-12; * Steyr AUG; * INTRATEC TEC-9, TEC-DC9, AND TEC-22; * revolving cylinder shotguns such as (or similar to) the Street Sweeper and Striker 12. The bill also bans "copies" or "duplicates" of any of those weapons. The failure to include a ban of these "copies" or "duplicates" would have opened the door for widespread evasion of the ban. Even so, some unscrupulous gun manufacturers have tried to evade the law by making minor changes to their assault weapons in order to skirt the restrictions. The 1994 law also prohibits manufacturers from producing firearms with more than one of the following assault weapon features: Rifles * Folding/telescoping stock * Protruding pistol grip * Bayonet mount * Threaded muzzle or flash suppressor * Grenade launcher Pistols * Magazine outside grip * Threaded muzzle * Barrel shroud * Unloaded weight of 50 ounces or more * Semi-automatic version of a fully automatic weapon Shotguns * Folding/telescoping stock * Protruding pistol grip * Detachable magazine capacity * Fixed magazine capacity greater than 5 rounds |
Re: So what do you think: goodbye, RKBA, then..?
Trust me. If the SHTF we will still be able to buy guns and ammo. and a lot more of other outlawed items..... Probably very cheap..................some other country/bank will finance the American AlCiada:D

Re: So what do you think: goodbye, RKBA, then..?
I think another AWB is a foregone conclusion.
I don't think they'll go after sporting arms for quite some time. Handguns will be next, but likely a few years down the road. They always use the 'frog in the pot' method, so I think they'll stay with that. In the end, I doubt they'll ask for an all out turn in, they'll make us register them for free. Then a nominal fee. Eventually, the fee will be so high that no one will be able to afford them. I have a few freinds who have lived through it in other countries, and that's how it happened there. A friend from Rhodesia said that normally on the very day one turned in their weapons, the death squads arrived, but always within a week. He never turned his in, and barely escaped with his (and his wife's) life. |

Re: So what do you think: goodbye, RKBA, then..?
10,000 rounds? Is that all? Just kidding. That's a good start. :D
I just started in PM's a few months ago but I've been bullish on lead, copper, and brass since about 1991. |
